Dearest Reader, I've been wondering if it's fair to call a cocky, hero, blinded by his goals, a Bad Boy or is he just misunderstood? I tend to write the likable, alpha heroes that just need the love of a good woman to turn then into groveling, swoon worthy cinnamonroll alphas. Brother's Best Friend... or Enemy

Dear Reader,Based on my TikTok feed I'd say we are firmly in a Brother's Best Friend Era of Steamy Slow Burn Romance Reads. I think it's the forbidden, are-we-going-to-get-caught element. If you didn't grow up with and older brother then you really didn't miss out on much. It's not like there was always a bunch of his hot friends hanging around. BUT there was always at least one, cute enough to crush on.My book Strictly Off Limits is a Brother's Best Friend turned Enemy slow burn romance, so if they get caught it is definately going to cause major problems. There might be a boxing scene too.I'd love to hear your recommendations on this latest, or comeback, trend. Dear Reader, It has come to my attention that there are several types of Romance novels, closed door, steamy, spicy, erotica, and dark. And among those categories there are varying levels of steam or heat, so how does a reader really know what they are after and what level of steamy Romance they are getting?A romantic scene depicting utter devotion can be written with such intense darkness it may turnoff some readers, but I think I found the solution.Just Turn The Page, if its too steamy but you're enjoying the story, move beyond the scene. If the scene isn't steamy enough then you may need to pencil in a few scenes and read more reviews for your next read. I am fully in my Fae era at this point, which is sortof perfect for the spooky month of October. I have two books to recommend;Frost by CN Crawford- I devoured this will they or won't they romantsy and then discovered it was just book one in a series. Yay for me.Court of Blood and Salt by Alexis Calder- I read this is two days in one of those-"no one bother me I must finish this" blur and now I'm in book 2. Best Romance Series with Siblings

I have been looking for another great steamy, slow burn series with siblings, like TL Swan's Miles High Club-those books were addictive. I also tore through J.T. Geissinger's Beautifully Cruel books. But as I was thinking about which books really started my love for series and binging, besides the old historical romances I read, I would have to say Meghan March's Beneath series, these books are gritty, with characters like Rio from #GoodGirls, and the scenes are vivid. If TikTok or BookTok had been a thing when these came out she would have been the queen series. I'm not sure if anyone is reading these author blog posts, it sorta feels like yelling off the side of a cliff... but I figured why not just be brutally honest in here and see what happens?So I'm going to just say "I'm scared." I've written at least a dozen books by now, my third published book comes out in June, and it scares me. Not because I want it to be an instant bestseller, which is really a mirage created by expensive marketing campaigns and big publishers. Not because I want my readers to love it, because I know that this yummy alpha hero is so dreamy and swoony--if you like Romance you can't dislike him. But I am scared that I won't find "my readers" I don't have a marketing degree, or a bottomless pot of gold for advertising.
